Cost reimbursement
Statutory health insurance
Osteopathy has not yet been included in the standard catalogue of services covered by statutory health insurers. Many statutory health insurers now cover a portion of osteopathy costs. The reimbursement of osteopathy costs varies between insurers. As a Heilpraktiker, a trained osteopath, and a member of the Verband der Osteopathen Deutschland e.V., I meet all the requirements for reimbursement.
I kindly ask that you obtain information from your health insurer in advance. An overview of insurers that subsidise osteopathy costs and the extent of coverage can be found at Osteokompass.
Private health insurance
For members of a private health insurance (full private insurance, supplementary private insurance, Beihilfe, and Postbeamtenkrankenkasse), no doctor's prescription is required for osteopathy. Billing in this case follows the fee schedule for Heilpraktiker (GebüH), and the level of reimbursement is determined by the individual agreement with the health insurer.
Donation-based treatments
Since osteopathy is generally a self-pay service, not everyone in our society can afford an appointment. In order to meet my social responsibility as a body therapist in the healthcare system, I offer treatments on a donation basis. I keep one to two days per month available for this and kindly ask that you contact me by phone in advance.
Cancellation fees
For missed appointments and for appointments cancelled less than 24 hours before the scheduled time, I will charge a cancellation fee of at least €70.
